From Funk to Fascination

You’re stuck.

We have all been there. You’re probably a bit confused and you can’t seem to shake the cobwebs from a static and poisonous lifestyle. Even the things that normally make you happy begin to bring you down. Worst of all, you can’t seem to understand why.

jewelSo you give it time, let it take its course, and just when you think you’ve escaped the funk, something drags you back in. You know its happening, but you can’t stop from slipping back under.

What’s happening here is simple. Something (be it your job, peers, or general lifestyle) is contaminating your mind. You’ve lost track of the calmness you know you possess, and in return, you’re mind has been tricked. You’re stuck in a painful delusion that causes everything to be toxic.

It’s time to wake up. Seriously, the snooze button is off-limits.

You only come to find yourself in these types of negative situations because you’ve let your mind take control. Since completely losing your mind may seem a bit radical, at the very least, you must correct your thinking.

Our minds are like an ocean. Like the tides, our thoughts come in and then retreat back. When our mind is stuck in delusion, the ebb and flow of our thoughts are focused negatively. With this, negativity flows into our consciousness and then retreats back into the bigger pool. In its retreat, the negativity gains power and influence, ultimately making the next flow into consciousness that much more harmful.  It’s a snowball of negativity.

Luckily there is a solution, and you innately have it.

There is a jewel within each of us that is waiting to shine forth into the physical world. By intentionally concentrating away from negativity, that jewel will become apparent. This being said, I invite you to the innermost layer of your self. You have a one-way ticket on the meditation highway.

It is the nature of meditation to focus on a specific point or place. This place, or the inner-jewel, varies between us all, so it is up to the individual to find it. By focusing upon this inner-treasure, our minds will avoid negativity. That funk you are all too familiar with will become a thing of the past, and you will find yourself living through positive energy.

From here, the next step is to become absorbed in this meditation so that you yourself become a jewel. In other words, your meditation is on the jewel within the larger jewel; which is you.

By learning to live in absorption of this meditative place, I’m confident whatever problems you have in your life will slowly dissipate. Your funk will turn into fascination, and you’ll never look back.
